Al Gore will train volunteers to create awareness on global warming.
22/Sep/2006: Albert Arnold Gore, Jr., former vice president of the Unites States of America, will train 1,000 volunteers of ‘Climate Project’, to spread the message on the deadly effects of global warming around the world.
He has been encouraging volunteers to apply for his training sessions, on how to use shorter versions of his PowerPoint presentations to spread awareness among people on issues related to global warming. The star of the documentary ‘An Inconvenient Truth’, which was made from his slide shows on global warming, Gore has been promoting his book and this documentary on global warming, for a while now.
Thousands of volunteers have already applied for this training program with at least 1,000 of them, expected to be trained by Mr. Gore within the next six months. The first session of this program begins with 50 volunteers in the hometown of Gore, Nashville. Mr. Gore, who lost the 2000 presidential election to George W.Bush, has been criticizing the lethargic attitude of politicians towards global warming, and has been campaigning to spread awareness among people on the effects of global warming, across the globe.
His recent campaigns have brought him a lot of publicity around the world and have raised questions about his plans for the 2008 presidential elections. Gore has said he has no plans to become a candidate in this election, but has not ruled the possibilities either. The training sessions hosted by Mr. Gore will also have scientists and experts, who will help the volunteers to get an in-depth knowledge on global warming. Currently, there are no plans to hold these training sessions outside Nashville and volunteers will have to pay for their transport and accommodation. But the training sessions, which are expected to be conducted from Sundays to Tuesdays, are free.
