Flood follows forest fire in Greece
31/Aug/2006: A flood followed a forest fire in a scenic area in northern Greece, with ashes turning the waters off beaches black.
The 30-minute downpour Monday also put out the last remains of the fires that have ravaged the Northern section of the country. The researchers are studying the effect of this heavy flooding and fire as it has released thousands tons of carbon dioxide and other harmfull gases in the enviornment.
Some scientists believe that this will add to global warming as the illegal housing area's near the forest are also burning yet and it is adding to green house gases and will widen the ozone hole which a week a ago was reported to be filling up.
